Mitten Class details - September 2015


Mitten Class – 2 sessions 4 hours = $52.00

It’s the time of year for knitting cosy mittens. Small project

Perfect for gift giving!!

We start by knitting a small mitten so you become familiar
with the different techniques.

We then move on with a regular sized adult mitten pattern.

Friday Sept 18th – 9: 30 to 12pm - Friday Sept 25th – 10am to 11:30am

Week one – Anatomy of a mitten discussion, pattern review
Knit small mitt – ribbing, gusset, thumb, decreases, – start adult mitten

Week two –Sort out issues, Q & A – How do I add a pattern?,  
What’s your favourite thumb? Graft top or not? Stripes?  Fingerless? Flip Top? Etc…..

Skills required = Intermediate
Must know how to knit, purl, knit with DPNs and/or magic loop

Materials = worsted weight  - 200yds, needles to achieve gauge (3.75mm – 4.5mm) 
in the format you wish to knit – DPNs, Magic Loop, 2 Circulars

Class policy = pre – registration required
Purchase materials at Grey Heron,
Must have yarn and needles ready to go for class (winding completed before class), 
Please arrive 10 mins. early to grab a coffee and get set up.
If you arrive after we have started, please grab a seat so we can continue.
