September class - "just do it"

Hi everyone, We are announcing the start to our fall knitting and crocheting classes. Every Wednesday – from 1:00pm to 3:00pm  $10.00 Brenda’s back on Sept. 12 th “911 Knitting Afternoon” - It’s our version of help on demand. Are you working on a project that has you puzzled about techniques or perhaps is a bit advanced for you? Not to worry, come in on a Wednesday – it’s a drop in class where you can get the help you need to finish your project. Every Thursday afternoon - 1:00pm to 4:00pm is our Drop in Knit CafĂ©. Hi everyone, Fall is right around the corner so it’s time for KnitFest. This workshop is full of exciting techniques to learn as both Kate Atherley and Glenna C will be returning to Collingwood for another sensational visit.   We have maintained the same pricing as last time $87.00 + HST. Every once and a while we take a daytrip out to Lake Huron area - Kincardine, Port Elgin, Southampton My old stomping grounds as a child. We slipped into the multiple car pile up @ Tim's in Southampton - look what we found... this amazingly funny billboard across the street... We laughed our heads off - and we won't forget to join in the fun every Saturday night in the summer to drop by the lighthouse to listen to the pipe band parade go by..... marketing at it's best... The sandy beach was gorgeous and full of families having a picnic and swim... what a great day we had

Typically, KALs knit the same projects - different colours perhaps, or maybe different yarns but traditionally the same project - well, @ Grey Heron we choose to express our individuality and knit a sweater of your choice, here's an example Takoma by Julia Farwell-Clay from knitty.com  The yarn has just arrived in the exact colours from Cascade... Maybe this will be your choice for the sweater KAL starting Thursday Sept 6th @ 10am and running for 8 weeks, plenty of time to knit your fall cardi. Week one, let's examain your pattern. Go over every detail making sure you get off on the right foot. Then we meet up every other Thursday morning to see the progress, sort out any blipps and carry on... One of the hotest new products out is called Soakboxes. Lorna's Laces, SOAKwash, Handmaid cream and a wonderful pattern designer, Fioan Ellis have all partnered to bring knitters these to die for gifts. Clark Cable in red, Lace Kelly in teal blue, Double Pointe Pink in soft pink, Cuff au Lait in taupe including a colour matching nail polish - count me in... Here this week. Makes for a great knitter gift - or for yourself first to try it out and then think of your BFF knitter.. LOL
