New books have arrived

Knit Wear has just launched their new magazine issue filled with interesting technie info and great patterns. I have picked out a couple of segments to focus on.

You must check out page 62 featuring Glenna Harris http://crazyknittinglady.wordpress.com/ and "On Design" dealing with color choices. Why we choose what we do, how we see colors, helpful choosing techniques and more. Glenna was a teacher at our KnitFest workshop back in March. The knitters loved her class on colourwork.

A few other projects feature lacework, linen stitch, chevron stitch, bias, ruched, corrugated and ripple. The rest you will have to discover when you buy your copy.

Spring Sweater Knitting

Who's tired of the cold winter winds and ready to knit a great Spring sweater?  Well, I think many of us are ready for those tulips and crocuses to show up.  Have you heard about Joji's Boxy sweater line up? These easy fit fun toknit sweaters have been designed in several styles and yarn weights.  Have a  look...  The Boxy was Joji's first design like this. It has a unique construction with interesting details and lots of easy knitting.  Boxy  is a very simple modern sweater, with a very wide body and skinny sleeves. Worked with a lightweight yarn it is very flattering, drapey and stylish!  A little short row section in the shoulders adds an interesting texture to the sleeves.  Directions are given to make a seamless version (worked in the round) or a seamed version (worked back and forth) of the body. Practising Sock Heel Knitting

Sock Heels  Cute heels :)  How many times have you started to knit socks and  everything's going along just fine then -  you arrive at the heel :( Peptalk = Read and re-read the directions,  I can do this!! - I can do this!!...  Well, your knitting the heel flap, okay not bad and then  comes the dreaded....  "pickup so many stitches along the edge" -  Here comes trouble...  well we have planned the class for you!!
