Classes coming up: January to March
Two hour
classes = $25.00, Three hour classes = $30.00, others marked
Materials are extra unless otherwise indicated
Beginner – Level 101- absolute beginner
Novice – Level 102 – Comfortable with the
knit stitch, the purl stitch, work basic increases and decreases, and can cast
on and cast off
Intermediate – Level 103 -
Each class has been labelled
with the skill level required to tackle the class.

certain class, just ask us and we can let you know more information.
101 knitting – Saturdays – Jan 10 + 17 - 10am to 12pm -
Learn all
the basics from A to Z
Two sessions - Learn the basic skills of knitting – casting
on, making knit stitches, making purl stitches, combination- knits &
purls, stockinette stitch, garter stitch and castng off. Ready to advance? - move on to 102 Learn to Knit in the Round.
Patterns: beginner hats, fingerless, boot cuff, baby sweaters, booties
Materials:
Worsted weight
wool yarn
Needles: 4.5mm or 5.mm.
102 - Knit your first
Accessory “in the round”
Wednesday Jan 14th 10am to 12pm - no seams
to sew – Project hat, cowl, boot cuff – basic skills
You've finished 101 and/or know how to
cast on, knit, purl, create combination knit with purl stitches and cast off.
Time to knit something beyond simple scarves!
This is the perfect class to take you
to that next step!

Learn the art of cable knitting – project

102 – 103 - Top Down sweater
knitting – Wednesday Jan 28th
10am to 1pm - small sweater to learn the concept- no seaming, faster
knitting,
102 - Lace – Wednesday Feb 4th – 10am
to 12pm - basic stitches, simple project, tips n tricks, join KAL for the
Holden Shawl***
Here's your chance to learn a new skill. We will knit a bookmark in class featuring all different stitch combos used in creating lace knitting.
Materials
Yarn; worsted weight leftovers
Needles: 4.5mm to 5.mm
All participants are invited to join in our Holden KAL (Knit A-Long). It is an easy pattern to follow where you can apply your new lace knitting skills.
Refresher Boot Camp- Saturday February 7th

103 - Techie class - Knitting “Magic Loop” -
Wednesday Feb 11th – 10am - 12pm
Small circumference knitting with
long cable - say goodbye to DPNs!!
This month learn the Magic
Loop method of knitting small circular objects with a
long circular needle. This is
a very handy technique when you don't like or don't have double pointed
needles! You can work tops of hats, sweater sleeves, socks, and mittens all
without double points!
Materials:
Yarn: Worsted weight leftover yarns
Needles: 40 inch long circular needle
in size appropriate to your yarn
Stitch markers
Notebook & pen
Prerequisites: 102 +
Beginner Sock - 102 – 103 - Socks – Thursday Feb 19th–
9am to 12pm
Cuff down – start basic sock
– class includes a pattern
Here's your chance to knit your first pair of socks. We start off with a sample sock and then move onto casting on for a worsted weight sock. We supply the sample sock yarn.
Materials:
Needles: 4.5mm DPNs, or 4.5mm @ 40" for magic loop
Techie class - Fixing your Mistakes – Wednesday February
25th – 10am to 12pm - Learn to identify and fix mistakes. Ripping back to fix a mistake is something
that's frustrating and discouraging for many people
and often unnecessary!
Learn to recognize your knit stitches and purl stitches look like and what to do when something goes wrong.
Materials: Homework
Worsted weight yarn
Needles: 4.5mm - 5.mm
Knit two large swatches - Cast on approx 30 and knit until work measures 4” high and leave work on the needles
: Knit one swatch in stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) and one in
garter stitches (knit all stitches)
Bring small crochet hook - 3.75mm or smaller
Tapestry or Darning needle
Prerequisites: 101 +
Beginner Sock class - toe up magic loop
102 – 103 - Socks – Thursday
Feb 26th – 9am to 12pm -
Toe-up - start basic sock – class includes a pattern
Here's your chance to knit your first pair of socks. We start off with a sample sock and then move onto casting on for a worsted weight sock. We supply the sample sock yarn.
Techie class - Finishing school –Wednesday March 4th – 10am to 12pm -
Sew perfect seams,
blocking, three needle bind off, buttonbands, etc….

102 – 103 sock class - Secret Weapon to knitting the Perfect fitting Sock
Thursday Mar 5th 9am to 12pm
- includes handout
hands on tutorial- now learn how to get the absolute perfect sock fit – must
have knit socks before and/or taken the beginner sock class.

Classes are non-transferable/non-refundable.
Missed classes cannot be made up.
