Classes
We
are so pleased to have Megan Goodacre joining us for the weekend. Here’s her
bio:
Megan Goodacre is a Canadian graphic artist,
blogger, and longtime knitter. The creative force behind Tricksy Knitter, Megan
mixes her (slightly) eccentric skill set of math, fine art, design and general
craftiness to write how-to knit articles and design knitting patterns. Her work
has been published by Interweave, Twist Collective, and Creative Knitting.
Transplanted from balmy Vancouver Island to
Ottawa in 2013, she can either be found huddled next to her computer for
warmth, or warding off aggressive squirrels with her knitting needles. Read
more about her adventures at www.tricksyknitter.com.

a triangular shawl is a great way to showcase a special skein of hand-dyed
yarn.
We’ll cover construction, design,
and finishing. To practice techniques, students will work on miniature shawls
in class. Topics will include: how to start with a garter stitch tab, which
type of increase to use, with stitch patterns work best, choosing a bind off,

is a powerful creative tool: it can be moody, sassy, bold, traditional or

Using a simplified Scandinavian
mitten construction, you will choose from the colour charts provided or design
your own!
On the technical side, we’ll look
