Learning how to spin is learning the process of drawing out the fibers and adding twist until you have created a continuous thread of stable yarn. Starting out on a hand spindle is a great way to master the craft with a minimum of expense and equipment. Drop spindles are ancient tools that were a necessity in ancient times and are still used in many parts of the world to produce thread and yarn. If you're thinking about picking up a spindle for the first time, you may not know the difference in spindle whorls and why they matter.
Learn the drop spinning process from expert spinners and take pride into creating your very own handspun yarn.

Jean Thomas has graciously offered to teach us to spin yarn 
using your very own Drop Spindle. 

We will make a spindle, practice with fibre 
and gain a new appreciation for creating.

These easy fit fun toknit sweaters have been designed in several styles and yarn weights.  Have a  look...  The Boxy was Joji's first design like this. Sock Heels  Cute heels :)  How many times have you started to knit socks and  everything's going along just fine then -  you arrive at the heel :( Peptalk = Read and re-read the directions,  I can do this!! - I can do this!!...  Well, your knitting the heel flap, okay not bad and then  comes the dreaded....  "pickup so many stitches along the edge" -  Here comes trouble...  well we have planned the class for you!!
