KAL - Knit Along to learn...

So, we decided to host a weekly KAL = "Knit Along to Learn"  We have chosen several FREE patterns for hats, cowls and fingerless for you to have fun with!! Top Down Sweater Class

Saturday September 14,2019 – 10am to 1pm = $54.00 Learn to knit a top-down sample size cardigan with buttons This class is ideal for a knitter who is wanting to learn how to knit top down patterns. In this class, we will complete mini button cardigan sweater project We will discuss a few modifications: buttonhole placement, buttonhole size, different sleeve length, collars and finishing techniques.    Skill Level:  Enthusiastic Beginner: Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off- increases and decreases will be taught in class Materials Required:  4.5mm/5.00mm @ 16” to 24” inch circular needle and DPNs, worsted weight yarn, buttons, pattern included with class

Knitting a project and need some help?

Do you have a pattern you would like to knit?  Great, please bring it with you.  If you would like us to help you, we are happy to do so.  If you haven't experienced Ravelry yet, we will introduce you to this fabulous on-line community. We will give you a mini tutorial on navigating this fun place.  We will be ready to help you get started.  We look at the following pattern information:   What yarn, yardage and weight of yarn is the pattern calling for?   We will direct you to the proper section of yarn weight for you to look for a suitable colour choice.  Do you want a machine washable yarn or a hand wash yarn?   We will offer some guidance along the way to make sure you are happy with you options.  Now, do you have the needle size required and the notions needed to start your project? We have many to choose from.  Next, do you have all the skills required to knit this chosen project...

Spring Sweater Knitting

Who's tired of the cold winter winds and ready to knit a great Spring sweater?  Well, I think many of us are ready for those tulips and crocuses to show up.  Have you heard about Joji's Boxy sweater line up? These easy fit fun toknit sweaters have been designed in several styles and yarn weights.  Have a  look...  The Boxy was Joji's first design like this. It has a unique construction with interesting details and lots of easy knitting.  Boxy  is a very simple modern sweater, with a very wide body and skinny sleeves. Worked with a lightweight yarn it is very flattering, drapey and stylish!  A little short row section in the shoulders adds an interesting texture to the sleeves.  Directions are given to make a seamless version (worked in the round) or a seamed version (worked back and forth) of the body. Practising Sock Heel Knitting

Sock Heels  Cute heels :)  How many times have you started to knit socks and  everything's going along just fine then -  you arrive at the heel :( Peptalk = Read and re-read the directions,  I can do this!! - I can do this!!...  Well, your knitting the heel flap, okay not bad and then  comes the dreaded....  "pickup so many stitches along the edge" -  Here comes trouble...  well we have planned the class for you!!
