Beginner Lace Class



Hi everyone,

We are offering a Beginner Lace class in April.  Lace knitting is artistic knitting!  Come a learn about knitting HOLES!  Lace is more about what you don't knit than what you do!  You will learn the basics of knitting lace, lace stitches, reading written/charted directions, and more.
Skills prerequisite: Know how to cast on, cast off, knit, purl – advanced – intermediate knitter
Supplies to bring to class:  worsted weight yarns, 4.5mm needles
This is a two part class:
Part one: Wednesday April 3rd – 1:oopm to 2:30pm      
Part two: Wednesday April 10th – 1:00pm to 2:30pm
COST - $30.00, plus materials
LACE KNITTING OUTLINE
General discussion regarding yarns, needle choices, gauge, swatching, common stitches ( YO, SSK, k2togtbl, SKPO etc), directionality of knit decreases, how to understand/read the charts, follow written text, helpful tools, blocking work, shawl shapes,

We will practise the lace work with your scrap yarns so you have a good basis to start with.
